GMS MICROCAST

GMS MICROCAST is the base for each GMS forecast package. GMS offers the world’s most precise, detailed weather forecast based on a two step 6 km / 1 km model resolution - hourly forecasts for a 5 day period!
Weather Central’s proprietary MicroCast hyper local forecast solution offers unrivalled precision due to unique boundary layer focus. As an exclusive feature, forecasts at various levels above the ground can be extracted directly from the model without additional interpolation. This enables the system to simulate all possible atmospheric stability effects such as nightly decoupling within the boundary layer.

GMS MICROCAST provides an easy to read, browser based intuitive graphical interface.

GMS FARM YIELD CONNECTOR

The GMS FARM YIELD CONNECTOR transforms the already turbine-specific GMS MICROCAST wind forecast to a yield forecast for your wind farm. GMS FARM YIELD CONNECTOR determines the wind conditions at hub height for your specific turbine model and incorporates wake effects into the calculations. GMS FARM YIELD CONNECTOR delivers an unparalleled response to intra-hourly wind variations within a wind farm as well as an hourly-precise air density power curve correction for each individual turbine position.

GMS FARM YIELD CONNERCTOR offers a detailed yield forecast for your wind farm on an individual turbine basis, and combined as a summary yield estimate. Forecast data is presented in a colourful and intuitive browser based interface – GMS WIND FARM MONITOR - developed by AL-PRO.

GMS SMART LEARNING

GMS SMART LEARNING is – as well as GMS MICROCOUPLING – THE unique feature of the GLOBAL MICROCASTING SERVICE packages.
GMS SMART LEARNING is based on a complex system of neural networks that “learn” from forecast deviations and corrects them automatically. As opposed to common statistical correction methods, GMS SMART LEARNING is able to read complex weather situations and generate site specific corrected weather forecasts. This can also include forecast adaptations to delay or speed up the timing of frontal systems as they pass through the site. Typically run after 1, 2 and 6 months of recorded forecast and observed data is available. Pre training is now available to fine tune your forecast at time 0.

GMS FARM YIELD

GMS SMART LEARNING PRE TRAINING offers you the ability to start your GMS forecast today with a pre-trained GMS SMART LEARNING System. Using existing wind or yield observations, historical weather forecasts are simulated prior to the desired starting date of your GMS forecast. The GMS SMART LEARNING system is then trained on these simulations, so the required correction algorithms are ready for your GMS forecast.

GMS MICROCOUPLING

GMS MICROCOUPLING is the first and only global operational system that couples a meso scale weather model with a CFD flow simulation. GMS MICROCOUPLING delivers unparalleled response to micro scale wind variations in complex terrain situations. In complex terrain situations such as mountainous sites, incredible forecast resolutions as fine as 20 m or finer can be achieved.

GMS MAIL ALERTING

GMS MAIL ALERTING offers e-mail notification if the forecast exceeds previously configured threshold values. Alerting can be as simple or complex as required with several escalation levels with various thresholds and forecast lead times with different recipient groups being possible.
